Atlanta Chapter has been Making the Leap to Remarkable since first chartered on August 3, 1945 with 29 members. The chapter played a key role in the founding of Georgia Division; and, has had member participation at the division and international levels throughout the years. As the oldest chapter in Georgia Division, Atlanta Chapter has chartered eight new chapters, with five of them remaining strong and active today. 




           
Atlanta Chapter Mission Statement

            The Atlanta Chapter of the IAAP is committed to:

 

v  Promoting the challenges and opportunities of the profession.

v  Providing continuing educational opportunities for the enhancement of leadership, management and technological proficiency.

v  Encouraging the attainment of the Certified Administrative Professional rating, and/or other certifications in the area of office support.

v  Exemplifying the standards of excellence which are recognized by the Atlanta business and civic communities.

 
 

The International Association of Administrative Professionals is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide. Our mission is to enhance the success of career-minded administrative professionals by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building and leadership development. The association founded in 1942 as the National Secretaries Association to provide a professional network and educational resources for secretarial staff. The association's name was changed in 1998 to the International Association of Administrative Professionals to encompass the large number of varied administrative job titles and recognize the advancing role of administrative support staff in business and government.
